Dreams-Can someone PLEASE help me on this!?!

Confused about dreams

Now I am aware that, going to someone to learn about the meaning of my dreams is against God.

The question I want to ask is, do our dreams mean anything?

Are they to be completly ignored?

Although it is wrong to go to someone, is it wrong for me to try and work out the meaning myself?

Do dreams tell me anything about my current life?

Can dreams be a warning?

Help! please.

This is something I have been confused about all my life, and I would like clarification.

Thankyou :-)

Dreams and what they mean to me

To me, dreams are your subconscious at work, either rehashing the pleasant or unspeakable past, or the fear of the unknown future. Mainly my dreams manifest themselves as nightmares vs pleasant dreams. I personally attribute my predicament to the turmoil in my life and the inability to accept the loss of my past and the uncertainty of my future. Coupled with the uncertainty of my personal safety, both physically and financially.

Against God?

Howis it that asking for help in decoding dreams is against God? Is that how you feel or is it stated in The Bible somewhere? I've read books about dreams and had no idea that it was against God. I can't even imagine why it would be.

Against God?

I believe that if someone consults with the dead for information it is against GOD'S word. And yes, it is written that we should not consult with the dead. sorcery, witchcraft, etc. no, no, no GOD BLESS!!

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 states,

Deuteronomy 18:10-12 states, "There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination (the foretelling of the future, or discovering that which is hidden) or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer (conversing with the dead). For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord..."

Against God?

i believe that there is nothing wrong with trying to interpret dreams if u pray about them b/c in the Bible many people intpreted dreams through God, and if it was so wrong for them to do that how come God blessed them b/c they did it.

God can speak to us in

God can speak to us in dreams, there is biblical precedent for this (eg. Joseph, Nebuchadnezzar, Pharoah of Exodus).

Dreams can be prophetic (eg. as above) or can reveal the current true state of things (eg. Jacob at Beth el). It is not a sin to ask God for the interpretation for a dream. In the Old Testament people needed prophets and priests as intermediaries, today God gives the Holy Spirit liberally to everyone. God can give you the answer directly. The best interpreter of your dreams is you.

I don't believe that there is any science to interpreting dreams but, in my experience at least, they can reveal things about my emotional or spiritual state that I'm consiously unaware of. I particularly take note of the recurring ones. In some dreams, the presense of God was very real.

GOD speaking

Good quote, I can relate.

Dreams

I believe that some dreams could give you a warning, and others dreams are probably what you may have on your mind. If you have your television on while sleeping then your conscious mind is reacting to what you hear. Some dreams may not make any sense and I believe that this is just your mind thinking, like in a daydream but only at night. Nightdreaming? Wow

Dreams

I am also of the belief that dreams are God's way of speaking to us most directly. God is always at work, even when we are not, so it would make sense for Him to speak to us when we have few outside distractions. In finding the meaning of dreams, certainly it is unnecessary and sinful to consult a "medium" or psychic of whatever sorts, but asking for help from another Christian brother or sister can only help you. Please, if anyone knows of scripture that forbids this, set me straight!

dreams

I have been having a recurring dream about Vietnam. I am a female 25 years old and in the army! I have not been to war yet, but in my dream I am a man going threw the jungle getting shot at by the enemy. Iv had this dream countless times and every time it ends the same, except for last night. I saw the mans face almost clearly and almost heard his name before I woke up. what does this mean, and how can I define it.
