Hi there, I don't have all the answers but I ran into several passages over the last year as I read through the Bible. There is no easy answer to this question, and you can see that the vision of Life after Death changes over time.
Here are some descriptions early in the Bible of what we are, and what Life after Death might be:
This sounds pretty bleak and suggests that after death, we go back to being dust.
There is more, a lot more, including Resurrection, in the book of Daniel, not to mention, most obvious all, the Gospels, and the doomsday scenario presented in the Book of Revelation. I'll write about those other three when I get a chance.
But your best bet is to read through it yourself. Good luck!

Life after death
Hi there, I don't have all the answers but I ran into several passages over the last year as I read through the Bible. There is no easy answer to this question, and you can see that the vision of Life after Death changes over time.
Here are some descriptions early in the Bible of what we are, and what Life after Death might be:
Genesis 2:7 states: And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
According to God's word, we were formed out of dust. God then put the soul and spirit into the mound of dust he had made.
Genesis 3:19 states: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

I would really love to know more! Please continue.Kari
