Who is more of a Christian -- Barack Obama or John McCain?

Comments

Obama was a community organizer like Jesus

This is the answer that most resonates with me. However, I also think Obama is more of a Christian because of this stance on helping the poor, his stance against War, and his stance on helping the middle class, as opposed to the very wealthiest members of society.

Your thoughts?

WHo gives a shit? really,

WHo gives a shit? really, this should not decide who you vote for! We should be accepting of people for who they really are, not just because they believe the same lie you do! Fuck

Cursing???

Should we really be cursing on a Bible website?

God sends people to help people

I agree, just once in a great while is there a person sent by God to help his people.

We, as Americans have been suffering too long; whether we a middle class, near retirement or retired or grandparents who want to help our grandchildren go to college. I believe Mr. Obama is a man of his word and he will definitely help us.

We have to exercise our faith in God!!! and God works through man/woman.

Who is more Christian

I have the moral issues as the most important thing I look at when voting for President, not my pocketbook. Obama's stance on abortion and same sex marriage is not what the Bible teaches. The Bible clearly shows that God knit us together in our mother's womb (Psalm 139: 13) and so it is clear the Bible teaches therefore that life begins at conception. As for same sex marriage, as Pastor James Kennedy once said, "If homosexuality is not a sin, than God owes Sodom and Gomorrah a huge apology." Sexual sins of all types are clearly spoken about is scripture. I live my life in this way: that the Bible is absolute truth and not man, and it is God who sets the rules and not man. What God declares is sin is sin. Neither candidate is perfect (no one is), but when it comes to these two moral issues, I feel John McCain will protect the unborn, protect marriage, and protect our freedom to worship God much better than Obama and the Democratic platform stands for.

Will the "Real Christian" please speak up...

The one who is filled by God's Holy Spirit!
So far I have not heard one President hopeful or Vice President hopeful say publicly that "Jesus is Lord". This is the TEST as stated in the Bible. There are a lot of Christians and Pastors that can't publicly make this statement either!
Is, He, the Holy Spirit in You?
1 Corinthians 12:3
... For this reason I want you to be aware that no one who is speaking by God's Spirit can say, "Jesus is cursed," and no one can say, "Jesus is Lord," except by ...
Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord,
... If you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ...
Romans 10:10 For with the heart a person believes, resulting in ...
... For with the heart man has faith to get righteousness, and with the mouth he says that Jesus is Lord to get salvation. ...
Then the Lord said,
“Because this people draw near with their words
And honor Me with their lip service,
But they remove their hearts far from Me,
And their reverence for Me consists of tradition learned by rote,
Therefore behold, I will once again deal marvelously with this people, wondrously marvelous;
And the wisdom of their wise men will perish,
And the discernment of their discerning men will be concealed.”
Woe to those who deeply hide their plans from the LORD,
And whose deeds are done in a dark place,
And they say, “Who sees us?” or “Who knows us?”
You turn things around!
Shall the potter be considered as equal with the clay,
That what is made would say to its maker, “He did not make me”;
Or what is formed say to him who formed it, “He has no understanding”?
So, understand this!
Then you will know who to vote for and whether they are really Christians or not?

Neither Obama or McCain seem

Neither Obama or McCain seem particularly Christian. They both are, unsurprisingly, rather too political to be very Christian, and insofar as they show Christianity it is to bring religion into the service of politics, they certainly do not seem to be bringing politics to the service of religion.

Neither. Being a Christian

Neither. Being a Christian is between the Lord and his follower. That being said, we are to know a Christian by his love of other Christians and by his fruits.

Are people inspired to Christ by either of these gentlemen?
I know of know anecdotes for Obama, but there are several for John McCain.

Neither

I don't see either Obama or McCain as being a true, Biblical Christian. I've seen nothing in either of their public lives that would give me to believe they know the God of the Bible.

Neither-2

Neither appears to be a Biblical Christian.

Community organizer?

But in the wrong way: Obama was a community organizer like Jesus. Good statement but flawed. Obama's organizing was based on hate. Many of his actions and promotions were directed at hating the white man and the United States Government. On the other hand, Jesus was all about love. Love your neighbor, love your enemy, love your brother, love God. I am sure you have heard these things.
